The Isle of Tides
L'île des marées
An original bilingual drama tracing three generations of a Nova Scotia fishing family as the sea slowly reclaims their island home.
Winner of three Dora Mavor Moore Awards, The Isle of Tides returns for a limited re-run.
On a small island off the coast of Nova Scotia, the MacIsaac family has fished the same waters for seventy years. When coastal erosion and a federal buyout threaten to empty the shoreline, grandmother Effie refuses to leave, her son plots to sell, and her granddaughter returns from Toronto with a plan nobody expects.
Performed in English with French surtitles, this intimate staging blends live foley sound, projection and a haunting East Coast score performed on stage.
