Paper Moon Machines adds two extra sessions after opening weekend sells out

The heartbeat-driven installation-performance has become the sleeper hit of the season, with all opening sessions gone in 48 hours.

Tidewater Arts Lab's Paper Moon Machines has added two extra sessions after its entire opening weekend sold out within 48 hours.

The work, which admits only 40 audience members per session and responds to their heartbeats through wearable sensors, has drawn attention for refusing photography entirely — no images of the sculptures exist online.

“We wanted one thing in the city you can only see with your own eyes,” said co-creator June Mokosak.
